The Jobs Act: A Better Future Created for Indiana, Hoosier Families

Share!

From the moment President Joe Biden took office, he promised to work across the aisle and build consensus to deliver results – and that is exactly what he has done.

Thanks to the work of U.S. Congressmen André Carson and Frank Mrvan, President Joe Biden signed into law the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (we’re calling it The Jobs Act), a once-in-a-generation opportunity to bring transformational investments to Indiana and Hoosier families — no matter where they live.

The Jobs Act is a blue-collar blueprint to rebuild Indiana. It’s fully paid for and will reduce the deficit in the long run. The best part: no Hoosier making more than $400,000 will see their taxes rise a single cent.

It’s worth remembering and repeating: every single Indiana Republican opposed the The Jobs Act and this better future for Hoosier families.

Hoosiers will now have access to good-paying jobs, better access to broadband internet, state-of-the-art roads and bridges to use, innovative Electric Vehicle (EV) charging networks to fight climate change, and clean and safe drinking water to enjoy in their homes and communities across Indiana.

Thanks to Democrats, Indiana will see brighter days ahead. President Biden and the Indiana Democratic Party proved we can deliver solutions when it matters most — and a brighter future is now on the horizon for Hoosiers and their families.

What The Jobs Act means for the Hoosier State:

Roads and Bridges: About $7 billion will be delivered to Indiana to assist with repairs to roads and bridges in all 92 counties

Public Transportation: Indiana will be provided about $680 million to improve public transportation systems in cities across the state

Broadband: The state will receive about $100 million for broadband internet expansion. This investment is in addition to the $250 million provided by the American Rescue Plan

Clean Water: Indiana will receive about $751 million to revitalize the state’s water infrastructure system, delivering safe and clean drinking water to all Hoosiers no matter the Zip code

Electric Vehicle (EV) Network: Indiana will receive more than $100 million to help expand Governor Holcomb’s existing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network.

Extreme Weather: About $20 million will be provided to Indiana to help address extreme weather events that could happen in the state due to climate change

Above is just a sample of what The Jobs Act can do for Indiana and Hoosier families. A full fact sheet about how The Jobs Act can deliver for the Hoosier Heartland can be found by clicking here.

Let’s elect more Hoosier Democrats
We can't sit this one out.
