INDIANAPOLIS – Following the Indiana Democratic Party’s release of a new report detailing Todd Young’s devastating plans for Hoosier seniors, the Young Campaign tried and failed to defend his plans to end Medicare as we know it:

SHOT: “The Young campaign spokesman said the Republican has never advocated cutting Medicare” [WISH, 9/21/16]

CHASER: Young “Helped Unveil” A House GOP Plan That Would Make “Major Changes” To Medicare And Medicaid” [Indianapolis Star, 4/6/11]

“The plan would essentially end Medicare” [Wall Street Journal, 4/4/11]

“The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said that ‘most elderly people would pay more for their health care.’ The additional costs, averaging perhaps $6,400 for a typical beneficiary in 2022, would require older Americans to ‘reduce their use of health care services, spend less on other goods and services, or save more in advance of retirement.’” [New York Times, 8/11/12; Congressional Budget Office, 4/5/11]
