ZeNai Brooks is an accomplished CPA, author, faith and millennial leader with extensive business and civic experience in Indiana and across the country. With over 15 years of experience in corporate America, ZeNai is focused on bringing strategic thinking, operational and financial excellence, and efficient processes to help position the Indiana Democratic Party for more success now and in the future.
In 2022, ZeNai was the Democratic nominee for Indiana state auditor. Her platform prioritized ensuring direct financial impact to communities and showing more care for Hoosiers. As she did during the campaign, ZeNai is committed to building a coalition by uniting under-represented groups around the state to fight for the rights of all Hoosiers to make our communities better.
Standing at the intersection of being a young, Black woman of faith, ZeNai fundamentally believes that we should all use our skills and experiences to advocate on behalf of others. She understands the importance of uplifting and empowering communities and is committed to challenging the status quo.
ZeNai has been consistently engaged in a number of civic and community organizations, including serving as treasurer for the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus in 2020 in Indianapolis. Her ability to build and maintain relationships will be vital in our work with elected officials, party activists, donors, and other stakeholders to help advance and expand the party’s strategy.
This role is an extension of both ZeNai’s professional career and her community involvement. As she believes, “to be political, you have to care about your community,” ZeNai recognizes the importance of understanding the politics of our community and knowing what part politics play in our lives. She is dedicated to advancing the party’s agenda while promoting the interests and welfare of all Hoosiers.
She attended the University of Louisville as a scholarship track athlete, earning her BS in Accounting.
