Seymour Tribune: Hill and Yoder talk about American Rescue Plan

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, traveled across Indiana this weekend to celebrate the direct relief President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan is bringing to all of Indiana’s 92 counties and its communities. Grassroots events in Huntington, Marshall, and Orange counties were a part of the Indiana Democratic Party’s American Rescue Plan Tour where Democrats like State Senators Jean Breaux and JD Ford and State Representative Maureen Bauer also shared with Hoosiers how not one Indiana Republican elected official voted to support the Rescue Plan despite the law delivering $5.8 billion in relief to the state, Indiana’s schools receiving $2 billion in aid, and more than $250 million being used to expand broadband internet access across Indiana.

Nicole Bolden (Indiana Democratic Party Deputy Chair) and Treva Hodges (Mayor of Charlestown) highlight the direct impact President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan is bringing to Indiana and Hoosier families.

“Here’s what every Hoosier should know: President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan is revolutionary and will help Indiana build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, this game-changing law is putting shots in arms, relief checks to Hoosiers, and good-paying jobs to help expand infrastructure needs like broadband internet access,” said JD Ford, Indiana State Senator – District 29. “Democrats are ready to go on offense and share the great news the Rescue Plan provides our families, and let’s never forget that not one Indiana Republican supported this groundbreaking law when Hoosiers needed it most.”

“The Indiana Democratic Party’s American Rescue Plan is delivering for Hoosier families where they need it most: childcare and our public schools. The Rescue Plan is helping erase the childcare deserts crippling our state while equipping our cities to provide hazard pay and much-needed raises for Indiana teachers,” said Maureen Bauer, State Representative – District 6. “This is what responsible government looks like, and it’ll be Indiana Democrats who continue to deliver for Hoosier families, as it’s become clear elected officials on the other side only value extreme partisanship since they voted against this common-sense relief for our communities.”

The American Rescue Plan Tour so far has specified just how the Rescue Plan is providing a direct contribution to all of Indiana’s 92 counties, and it’ll continue throughout June. Hoosiers can check out the Indiana Democratic Party’s “American Rescue Plan: How It Benefits You” website where voters can find out how the law is helping their families put COVID-19 in the rearview mirror.
