As the news plays on in the background here at Howard County Democratic Headquarters Senator Obama has clinched the nomination for the Democratic Candidate for President!

My hopes is that Indiana will be in play for our candidate for this fall!

I wanted to report that through the leadership of our County Chairman, Bob Stephenson, we have started a local chapter of the Democratic African-American Caucus. We held a call out meeting Saturday, May 31. The Indiana Democratic African-American Caucus group held a meeting at our headquarters directly after our local chapter's meeting. Many of the IDAAC members arrived early to join in our meeting to show their support of our new club. Our next meeting to discuss executive nominations will be June 9th at our headquarters at 5:30 p.m.

Bob and I have been working on getting a local chapter of IDAAC for approximately two years now. It had become more of a personal goal since Senator Obama's candidacy. It is our goal to promote active community involvement and political involvement within Howard County and especially within the African-American community. I am happy that I could be apart of helping with our local chapter and will continue to support the chapter as it gets off the ground and moves forward.
