06/01/2011 - Mike Pence: White House or Statehouse?
In case you missed it, Congressman Mike Pence today opined to the D.C. press that Sarah Palin would be “a force to reckon with” if she ran for the GOP presidential nomination.
Over the past decade, Pence has made a name for himself in Washington as a highly partisan mouthpiece for the far right. He took a pass on a presidential campaign next year to come back to Indiana and run for Governor, a strategy some see as a way to position himself for a 2016 White House bid.
“Mike Pence’s comments about Sarah Palin make it clear that he’s far more focused on the White House than the Statehouse,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker. “He loves to create a buzz with the D.C. media when we really need someone back here who’s focused on creating jobs for Hoosiers and fixing our ailing economy.”
