Indiana delegation set for Democratic National Convention
State will send most diverse delegation in its history

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party today announced its official delegation to the 2012 Democratic National Convention, which will take place Sept. 3-6 in Charlotte, N.C.

This year’s delegation includes 106 delegates and eight alternates; Indiana will send the most diverse delegation in its history.

“We’re sending a delegation to Charlotte that truly reflects every Hoosier,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker. “This year’s delegates are fired up to represent Indiana at the national level, and we look forward to carrying our message to Charlotte in September.”

This year’s delegation will be led by Dr. Woodrow Myers, the Indiana state chair for President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

“It’s an honor to lead the delegation this year,” Myers said. “We’ve been working hard to keep Indiana blue in November by re-electing President Obama and all of our outstanding Democratic candidates.”

Delegates from each Congressional district were elected at the Indiana Democratic Party State Convention on Saturday. Additional delegates include party leaders, elected officials and Indiana members of the Democratic National Committee.
