INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Democrats today called on Gov. Mitch Daniels to disclose the sources of funding for statewide radio ads targeting House Democrats who are standing united against the GOP’s anti-worker agenda at the Statehouse.

A spokesperson for the Indiana Republican Party declined to identify the amount being spent. The Governor's Aiming Higher PAC is funding the ads.

“This Governor and Republicans at the Statehouse are pushing an anti-worker agenda the likes of which Hoosiers have never seen before,” said Indiana Democratic Party Chair Dan Parker. “The Governor needs to be honest about where that money is coming from and whose interests he’s promoting by trying to lower wages, wreck public education and reduce worker’s rights.”

The Indiana Democratic Party is paying for Democratic lawmakers to caucus in Illinois while they wait for Republicans to come to the negotiating table with priorities that match those of average working Hoosiers. All contributions to the Indiana Democratic Party must be disclosed to the Indiana Election Division in a pre-primary election report.

Parker also noted that statewide elected officials, statewide candidates, and all 150 legislators are prohibited from fundraising during the long legislative session.
