Democratic news

I want to share with you some great news from our State Central Committee meeting this past weekend.
First, I am pleased to announce that committee members officially endorsed Scott Reske as the Democratic candidate in the Fifth Congressional District.
Scott is a strong advocate who fights for working Hoosiers, and Democrats have an even better chance of winning back this seat now that longtime Congressman Dan Burton is retiring at the end of this term. Please join me in wishing Scott the best – and learn more about his campaign at www.reskeforcongress.com!
In other news, Second District Vice Chair Zanzer Anderson was elected as IDP Secretary, and the committee elected Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry as the official chair of the 2012 Democratic State Convention in Fort Wayne, the first time the event has been held outside of Indianapolis.
Committee members also heard from Dr. Woody Myers, the new Indiana authorized representative for Obama for America, representatives from the House and Senate Democratic caucuses and City-County Council member – and rightful Secretary of State! – Vop Osili.
It was an invigorating meeting, and it was wonderful, as always, to see so many great Democrats in one room working united toward victory in November.
