Hard to believe

In case you missed it, Mitch Daniels said yesterday that he thinks working Hoosiers who are standing up for their rights in the workplace are worse special interests than oil companies.
In an interview with National Public Radio, Daniels went on a tirade against the labor unions that are trying to protect workers’ rights in the face of strong assaults from GOP governors and lawmakers.
Oil companies?
Really, Governor?
Indiana House Democrats today stood united behind the hard-working Hoosiers who are under attack by Republican lawmakers.
Mitch Daniels hasn’t said a word to stop the assault.
He’s been too busy gallivanting across the country trying to get his name noticed by national pundits and donors when he’d have been better served talking to some of those “special interests” who’ve been trying to get their voices heard at the Statehouse.
Governor, these are real people, thousands of them, who are trying to put food on the table, buy clothes for their kids and save up a little cash for retirement.
They can’t afford to bring in $5,000 less each year like their counterparts in so-called “right to work” states.
When’s the last time oil company executives worried about declaring bankruptcy and having to explain it to their kids?
When you first ran for office, Governor, you made it a point to go across our state and talk to the people who are proud to call themselves Hoosiers. I think it’s time you do that again. You’ll see that these men and women who are speaking up at the Statehouse are the backbone of our economy.
They’re real. They need jobs. And then need you to stop looking down at them.
You alone have the power to tell GOP lawmakers to stop the gamesmanship and come up with a real jobs plan. Will you?
