Anyone but Pence?

We can only imagine Congressman Mike Pence’s surprise when he read this recent story in the Purdue Exponent about Gov. Mitch Daniels’ remarks at political rally for West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis:

Gov. Mitch Daniels said Thursday that Mayor John Dennis shows all the right qualities for Indiana governor.

Daniels attended a political rally for Mayor John Dennis' reelection Thursday at Bruno's in West Lafayette.

"Governors come in various descriptions," Daniels said. "(Dennis) is tested and proven."

Daniels said a successful mayor seems like a good person to look to for governor.

"He has absolutely displayed qualities of a governor," Daniels said.

Is Daniels, who’s publicly stated his frustration with the lackluster GOP presidential field, having similar thoughts about the Republicans – D.C. insider Pence and little-known businessman Jim Wallace – running for Governor next year?

It sure sounds like it.
