Education

Education

Our goal is to restore funding for our public schools, and help facilitate an environment that keeps good, hardworking teachers in districts that need them the most. Further, we will make concerted efforts to invest state dollars in early childhood education and implement universal Pre-Kindergarten so all Hoosier children have a fair start in school by the age of 5.

Hoosier Economy

Hoosier Economy

Hoosiers deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. In order to do that, we must decrease the wage gap, and ensure workers can earn a real living wage.

Protect our health care

Protect our health care

Congressional Republicans have made it quite clear. They've sided with the wealthy and insurance company CEOs, financing a massive tax cut for them by eliminating health care coverage for millions of Americans.

We know the Affordable Care Act saves Hoosiers' lives and has provided access to critical health care services like addiction and mental health treatment for thousands of Hoosiers. We know a preexisting condition shouldn’t mean a lifetime of medical debt...or worse.

Hoosier Workers

Hoosier Workers

The Republican Party has time and again prioritized an ideology that has hurt the overall middle class worker. We believe the “right to work” law should be repealed while restoring the state’s common construction wage laws.

Infrastructure

Infrastructure

With over 1,900 structurally deficient bridges and over $71 million of faulty asphalt paving our roads, it’s time to elect Democrats who will make improving all of our roads and bridges a priority.

Equal Pay for Equal Work

Equal Pay for Equal Work

Hoosier women make only 75 cents to every one dollar a man earns on the job. Additionally, two out of three Hoosier women hold minimum wage jobs. With women representing over 50% of the state’s population, this economic epidemic must change.

Equality

Equality

Democrats have said we will not stop until all Hoosiers, including gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, are included in our state’s nondiscrimination laws. Equality is not just a civil rights issue – it is an economic one too. We must show the country that Indiana is a state that welcomes everyone.

Veterans

Veterans

Our party is committed to providing our veterans, servicemembers, and military families the benefits they deserve. Our duty to those who serve our nation does not end when they leave that service: we must guarantee that those who serve our nation have access to the health benefits, education and job opportunities we promised to them.

Environment

Environment

We believe in a strong, balanced approach to energy production and environmental protection. Hoosiers can grow the economy while simultaneously preserving the integrity of the environment.

This is not normal

Donald Trump’s is not a normal presidency. To fight back, we will all need to step up and speak out. Are you ready?

Redistricting reform

Redistricting reform

Hoosiers deserve political representation that reflects the communities they live in. Hoosier voters should choose their elected officials, not the other way around.

Investigate Trump’s Russian Connection

Investigate Trump’s Russian Connection

House Republicans derailed a measure to investigate Russian meddling into the 2016 election and any potential conflicts of interest that may exist between President Trump's business dealings and Russia. Unacceptable.

The 53 percent

The 53 percent

Nearly 53% of Indiana ballots cast during the 2016 election were cast by women. Hoosier women make up a formidable majority yet GOP lawmakers continue to pass legislation targeting women’s rights. It’s time we stand together and put GOP legislators on notice.
